Why CETDIGIT

Questions, answered

What is WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and why does it matter?

WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the international technical standard for digital accessibility set by the W3C. The DOJ adopted it as the required standard for state and local government websites and mobile apps under Title II of the ADA.

We're a smaller agency. Do we still need to comply?

Yes. Public entities with populations under 50,000 — and all special district governments — must comply by April 26, 2028.

What is TIPS piggybacking?

TIPS (The Interlocal Purchasing System) is a national cooperative purchasing program. When your agency is a TIPS member, you can purchase from our pre-competed contract without running your own RFP, saving months of procurement time.

How long does compliance take?

Most projects take 4 to 12 months depending on scope. With the 2027 deadline approaching, starting now is critical.

Will the deadline get extended again?

The DOJ has already extended it once. Private ADA lawsuits have continued regardless of the federal deadline, so waiting carries real legal risk.

What happens after we're compliant?

Compliance isn't a one-time event. New content, design changes, and software updates can introduce accessibility issues — which is why we offer ongoing monitoring.

Why CETDIGIT

Don't wait until 2027.

Every month of delay shrinks your remediation window. Most agencies need 12–18 months to plan, build, and remediate. Let's get yours on the path to compliance today.
